This unit is suitable for only one point of use at a time . Recommended for incoming cold water temperature above 50°F, however it can take lower incoming temperatures down to 40°F by reducing water flowrate This amazing instant water heater is designed for one point of use at a time and it can be connected to the existing hot water piping. It is Ideal for small apartments, flats , hunting cabins and small homes as well as campers , RV's and mobile homes. Infinite applications can be found for the extraordinary Coral tankless water heater. INSTALLATION MANUAL If you are going to use the unit as an inline heater (by removing the bottom part of the showerhead and running a line to the shower outlet). Make sure the unit is installed above of where the water comes out and the open/close fixture is installed before the water inlet of the unit. MORE INFO ON CORAL ELECTRIC POINT OF USE INSTANT WATER HEATER: <></><></>Shower head with integral water heater built in. Use for space restricted and portable applications such as boats, pool, camp facilities, hunt cabins and RV. You can have a fully functional hot water shower system at a fraction of the normal equipment cost and installation time normally required. This self-contained shower system only uses electricity when operated. The units are "on-demand" and "tankless" and therefore only needs a single water source to operate. The unit will operate properly with a low water pressure of 2 PSI up to 150 PSI. Installation steps summary:
1) Remove your existing shower head and extension, just leave the ½? hole in the bathroom wall..
2) Install a 12" long piece of 1 / 2 " galvanized tubing (not provided) and then connect to shower head with a 1 / 2 " union (not provided). You can purchase both tubing and union at any plumbing supply or Home Depot. 3) Run Water thru the showerhead, this will fill the water cavity where the resistance is lodged.
4) Make sure you have a 30 Amp circuit breaker to your existing breaker box and run wires to the shower head unit. See circuit current requirements in table below. TURN OFF THE BREAKER! 5) Connect the power wires to the shower head unit , no polarity is required 6). TURN ON THE BREAKER. The unit is ready for use, just open the fixture and hot water will instantly come out, you can decrease temperature by increasing water flow. PLUMBING INSTRUCTIONS: | Open the pipe and let it run enough cold water to remove any sedimentation from the pipe The minimum water pressure supplied to the shower head shall be 1.5 PSI. This corresponds to about one meter (3.3 feet of column of water as diagrammed in figure 3). If using a water tank you can work directly from the diagram observing the water column heights.
If the plumbing does not have 1/2" thread, use an adapter. The height of the water tank must be at least 1 meter above the shower head, in cases of LOW water pressure (1.5 Psi to 10 Psi) the flow restrictor should be removed (see figure 4). For pressure between 80 and 400 kPa (8 and 40 mca.) or municipal water source, it is necessary to keep the flow restrictor. (see figure 4) Install the water connection and fill with water before making the electrical connection, this prevents burnout of the resistance heating element. Always repeat this operation should the product be removed. ELECTRIC INSTALLATION: | Connect the leads of the product to the electric wiring, use an adequate connector such as wire nuts; The ideal height of the junction (exit of wires) is of 1 foot above of the water exit (it see figure 7); Use no type of plug for the installation of the product to prevent errant hands fiddling. |
SPECIAL ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are going to use the unit as an inline heater (by removing the bottom part of the showerhead and running a line to the shower outlet). Make sure the unit is installed above of where the water comes out and the open/close fixture is installed before the water inlet of the unit. | GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS: The Pigtail wire shown in this picture is the ground wire. Connect the ground wire of the product to home's grounding system. DO NOT use the Neutral wire as a ground! As in all electrical devices proper grounding system insures safety The system should be installed by a qualified professional.
